"American Breeding Standards is letterpress printed on Zerkall Book from handset metal types and photopolymer plates. The binding structure is an exposed spine sewn on tapes and attached to paste paper covered boards. The book was produced in 2012-2013 and printed by the artist in Gainesville, Florida. Text excerpted from American Horses and Horse Breeding by John Dimon, and from Canine Standards of the German Shepherd from the American Kennel Club. Other text and illustrations by Ellen Knudson"--Colophon.

Text block is made up of seven signatures sewn to tapes. The first and last pages are attached to paste paper-covered boards; the front board features a hinged, Turkish-folded pop-out with an illustration of an open mouth. The book is laid in an illustrated cloth-covered bookboard chemise lined with illustrated paste paper with the title letterpress printed on the spine. Issued in an illustrated, cloth and paste paper-covered slip-case. The slip-case features horse illustrations and a rectangular hole in the front cover. Colophon is located on page 3 of chemise.
