Item Description:Composed in the summer of 1743 and first performed in February 1744 at Covent Garden theatre in London. The work was revived by Handel at the King's Theatre in December that year, in a revised version in which he inserted five Italian arias from his earlier operas Alcina, Arminio, and Giustino--From preface.
